Hi,
I just found a vegan(non dairy, no eggs) sugar cookie recipe that I love but it has baking powder in the recipe. So the cookies rise and spread just a little and flatten after cooled. They still taste good and still look good just not as good as I would like. I am used to my cookies not changing at all when baked. I do freeze these cookies before baking for about 15 minutes.

So my question is do I need the baking powder in my cookies? What does it actually do for the cookies as in taste and texture wise? Thanks! Tanisha

start by cutting it down--My original recipe called for 2 tsps I use 1/2 tsp

Baking powder will rinse your sugar cookie because if you don't put one on it it will just look flat.
