Gift cookies - packaging and shipping

So, I know how to ship cookies... just shipped some and they all arrived in one piece. But wrapping them in bubble wrap, etc, is not a very pretty presentation. I came across this picture, the cookies are a gift for someone who lives 14 hours away by car, so I assume she's shipping them. Did she just use this arrangement for the photo or can you actually ship them like this and expect them to not break?

That is probably just for the photo. I have sent cookies in a box like this. However, I first seal each individually in cellophane. Then I wrap the entire box in bubble wrap. Then I pack it in another box and make sure there is no movement. Off to the post office and on to its destination. To date, I've had no breakage :)
