This is the recipe I use. It is a royal with shortening and corn syrup added. The icing is hard enough on the outside, but soft and delicious on the inside. Good luck!

I started with Royal Icing, tried glaze (loved the flavor, not a fan of the workability), compromised with a Royal Icing Glaze. Best of both worlds....I also now rarely use more than one consistency...
