Yay! I spotted this in a kitchen store back in November and knew I had to have it. I finally got caught up from Christmas and car repairs and went out and bought it today. Sifting powdered sugar is one of my least favorite tasks because of the mess I make using my small sifter. This one is a beauty and holds 8 cups. Can't wait to try it out :-) Now i'll probably just make a bigger mess but at least i'll know it's me and not the sifter!

I use one too, I sift into a large bowl and cover it with a plastic bonnet. That way I have sugar ready to go and don't have to sift everytime I make icing. Love it, everyone should have one of these.

I would love one of these, can you share what kitchen store you found it at?

Haha, never mind. I guess I am too impatient...just bought a Norpro off of Ebay...it got the best reviews that I saw, but of course it cost the most $$ too . I was saving that money for an airbrush so now I have to start over. I have always used a mesh strainer for my powdered sugar (I don't sift my flour) but it makes such a mess. The things we do (and the money we spend) for the love of our cookies....oyyyy!

I got it at a kitchen store called Habitat - I think it's local but not sure. They have lots imported things. I was toldthe owner is from Norway or Sweden. I have searched all over the sifter, inside and out for a stamp with the product name/line but there is nothing - not even a couple letters. It's very heavy duty. It was $30 which is why I didn't run right out and purchase it when i first saw it but after endless sticky messes, i had a to give it a whirl! Am finally getting a chance to bake this week so will let you all know how it goes. The idea of pre-sifting a large amount of powdered sugar is a great one. Thanks!

I can never resist a good goose chase!

Here's the link to the company that makes the BIG HONKING sifter (or imports it?). It's a beauty! Hope it works well. If so, we could probably place a group order

Nice find! It looks almost identical but the one I bought was labeled by the store as an 8cup sifter. I'll find out this week when I get to the icing making stage. Just getting dough made and rolled today.
