Color help?

I'm new here, so not sure if this is the place to post. I was asked to do wedding favors to match the bridesmaids dresses. 1st big order and so excited about it.
The color Sahara, which looks like a shiny taupe to me.
I was thinking of mixing ivory & chocolate brown and adding some luster dust. Anyone have any ideas?

Beautiful dress!! Love the color. I would mix some ivory and some brown and add the icings together till you get the color you want. Remember it darkens as it sits. Try it with the luster dust mixed in and adding it after. You might try one of the sprays lightly. Maybe a pearl. It definitely would be worth it to try a few things ahead. Thanks! I just ordered some warm brown & ivory since my town's hobby store doesn't carry those colors! I've got until June, so I started tonight by mixing chocolate brown & white...but it just didn't look right. I think the ivory will help more than the white.

Katy- Great idea to make separate bowls of the ivory and warm brown! I might have learned that the hard way. Great tip!
The dress color is awesome but I'd be intimindated too. What shapes are you going to make? Congratulations on the big order!!!

She asked for circles with a white monogram. I'm going to do a sample of them for her once I get my color the way I want. I going to do exactly what she asked for, but also throw in a "fancy square" cookie with the monogram just to let her see a variety.

Just to follow up on this, in case anyone needs a khaki/champagne color in the future.
I used americolor egg yellow, wilton violet and a touch of americolor warm brown.
It only took me about 1000 tries and many many headaches.
